FAQ's
What if I can’t afford the tuition? St. Paul tuition is very affordable. Base tuition for the first child begins at only $3,550. This is one of the lowest tuitions in the diocese. Deductions applied, such as service hours, can bring tuition down, too. For a second and third child, tuition is only $1,325 and $1,000 a year, respectively. This means tuition for one child could be as low as $305 a month, if payments are spread over a 10-month period.
Does my family need to be Catholic in order for my child to enroll? St. Paul School has students of other religious denominations, and those beliefs are respected. All children are taught religion as a subject and attend Mass weekly, these lessons are of benefit to all!
What if I have no way to get my child to school? St. Paul School offers bus transportation from the Campus area and Dwight daily for an additional fee.
Will the multi-grade classroom benefit my child? Our small class sizes means the teacher-to-student ratio is still lower than that of nearly any public school. While this set-up causes an increased workload for our teachers, most children thrive in this environment because they get an opportunity to review and reinforce skills learned the year before.
Do you offer the resources to help my child reach their potential? Although our school is small, parish members, parents, and alumni generously support us. Our classrooms are equipped with computers and iPads. Because we are a Catholic school, we are not bound to spend a great deal of time on test prep and standardized testing required of the public schools. This allows us to spend more time focused on ensuring our students are learning as much as possible. Our graduates are consistently in the top ten of their high school classes and go on to achieve many awards and accolades in their college and high school careers.
Do you offer a full day Pre-K program? In addition to all-day kindergarten, St. Paul School now offers all-day Pre-K! Pre-K students can attend from 7:30 AM when the school opens until the school day ends at 3:00 PM. Our after care program, which runs until 5:30 PM is also included in the cost of our preschool program.
Will my child get to play sports or have extra-curricular opportunities? St. Paul School partners with Odell Grade School & Saunemin for sports, band, chorus, and Scholastic Bowl. Your student will likely see more playing time than if they attended a larger public school. In most extracurricular activities, our students are eligible to participate beginning in fifth grade.
If you have ANY additional questions, please contact the school office at [email protected] (best way in the summer) or 815-998-2194. We will be more than happy to take care of any questions or concerns you may have.
